Your Executive Board meets monthly to update district news and hear your concerns through your Faculty Representatives. Our goals continue to be focused on expanding our Executive Board so we can better meet the needs of our members, and to encourage newcomers and the younger staff to become involved. It doesn't always mean a huge amount of time to sit on a committee. Our time is precious, I realize that. Many of you have families and other commitments which require your time and attention. But the ATA is here as your organization to support your efforts in the classroom and to care for you as an employee of the Ayer Public Schools.
Our Association is governed by the members through the Executive Board supported by a Constitution and Bylaws. In those Bylaws we have listed various positions within the Association which you may find of interest if you would like to participate more fully in your organization. Some of these jobs do not involve meetings or any year-long commitment. In a future message I shall provide a copy of the structure of our Association so that you can see what is available, and also read about the various positions.
As we continue our work on improving and expanding this site, you will be able to access our contract and the ATA Constitution and Bylaws quickly and easily. The site will become "password protected": only ATA members will be able to utilize certain pages of the website using their MTA identification numbers. Please let us know if there are other features you would like to have in the website. It is here for you.
